Kirk J. Anderson | Appellate Law Attorney

Mr. Anderson has nearly a quarter-century of legal experience. Born and raised in Oakland County to a family with several members devoted to the practice of law – his father, brother, and sister – Mr. Anderson has carried on his family’s tradition of assisting individuals in standard and complex legal matters. Mr. Anderson treats each of his clients like family, taking on the concerns of his clients as if they were his own. Mr. Anderson’s extensive legal experience began when he was still in law school and clerked for the Honorable Kathleen Macdonald in the Wayne County Circuit Court. After law school, he practiced in both small law firms and large organizations, including the United Auto Workers and Kmart Corporation. Mr. Anderson’s experience includes litigation at the state and federal levels, including the Michigan Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals. Mr. Anderson’s experience has found a perfect home at Powers Chapman where he assists clients with estate planning, consumer law, family law, criminal law, and real estate and landlord/tenant matters. Mr. Anderson’s expertise also takes him outside the firm’s doors to advocate for people with disabilities in both Lansing and Washington, D.C. Mr. Anderson also participates in leadership service with several religious organizations.
